Bedrooms of the Nation was the moniker I used for most of my musical endeavours throughout the 2000s. It's also the direct precursor to Shimmering Stars. Its humble beginnings include 4-track recordings that have long since disappeared, Kamloops open mic nights with Andrew playing percussion on a guitar case, and several iterations of a live band in Vancouver that was met with varying degrees of indifference. (Except by our friends & family, we love you!)

This album was recorded in 2009 at the Garage Mahal in Kamloops, BC. It has a dusty, cavernous quality and although it was recorded using literally one microphone (!!) I appreciate its lo-fi charm. In terms of fidelity, it's pretty rough - what I would give to have the original files and remix the hell out of this! Some of these songs were repurposed for the 2014 Shimmering Stars retrospective 'Lost & Found Sounds.'
